FoxMandal Little, India's largest law firm, has opened an office in London.

The office will mainly target multinational clients seeking to invest in India, although it will also be able to advise Indian companies setting up in Europe and the US, through its relationships with local firms.

The firm's managing partner, Som Mandal, said: "Clients will feel comfortable walking across and getting advice in real time, not waiting for a call back the next day due to time zone issues." He added that the move would reduce the firm's costs.

Mandal will head the London office, which will also comprise dual-qualified partner Ajit Mishra, three associates and a consultant. The team will be supported by partner Vineet Aneja, who will be based in London part-time.

FoxMandal Little was created in 2006 following the merger of Fox Mandal and Little & Co.
